Julia Child is reported to have said, "I was 32 when I started cooking; up until then, I just ate." For me, I was 30. While I have always loved food, cooking was something I feared, disliked, and avoided until motherhood compelled me to overcome my feelings and, in spite of myself, I found I began to enjoy trying new recipes, creating tasty meals, and sharing them with others. These are the adventures of my learning to love something that overwhelmed and intimidated me for far too long. I hope you will enjoy (and perhaps benefit from) the tales of a reluctant cook!

Ideas (originally posted January 22, 2014)

Truth be told, I’d been toying with the idea of a food blog for several months before now, but timing wasn’t quite right (I was at the end of a pregnancy and then lost in newborn land for a number of weeks). During that time, however, I did spend a lot of time thinking about what I might include if and when I did jump on the blogging bandwagon. Now that I have, I thought I’d share some of my ideas and, perhaps, solicit some of yours!

Along with sharing recipes I try and want to try, I thought I might also post about kitchen tools I love, favorite food blogs, how I organize my recipes, and how I meal plan. I’m still brainstorming other ideas, but I thought I’d throw the question out there to you, too: what food and cooking-related posts would you like to see? What would be most helpful? Appealing? I’d love to hear your thoughts as I get started!
